The Transplant Games have a rich and memorable history of bringing together a community of individuals touched by the miracle of donation and transplantation for more than 30 years.
The Transplant Team of Connecticut seeks to honor organ, eye, and tissue donors, living donors, and donor families by showcasing the health and wellness experienced by transplant recipients. It also educates people about organ, eye, and tissue donation and empowers them to make the decision to give the gift of life.

Making History in the Mile High City: A Record-Breaking Day for the Transplant Community
On Saturday, June 20, 2026, history was made at the 2026 Transplant Games of America in Denver, Colorado. In an unforgettable demonstration of hope, gratitude, and the profound power of organ donation, 966 living donors and solid organ transplant recipients gathered at the Colorado Convention Center to claim an official Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of its kind in history.
Organized in collaboration with the Transplant Life Foundation and the Life's Short Live It! movement, the historic event easily shattered the previous standing record. Beyond the numbers, the true heartbeat of the gathering was its powerful tribute to the gift of life and the legacy of Craig Hostert, the Life's Short Live It! co-founder and two-time kidney recipient whose memory inspired the history-making effort.
Standing Shoulder-to-Shoulder for a Cause
Living donors, recipients, families, and supporters from all over the country—including our very own representatives from the Transplant Team of Connecticut—stood side-by-side in a crowded exhibition hall to fulfill strict verification guidelines set by Guinness World Records. The energy in the room was electric as the official adjudicator verified the final tally of 966.
The monumental achievement stood out as a crowning milestone of the 2026 Games. For the thousands in attendance, the gathering served as a visible reminder of the extraordinary ripple effect started by a single selfless decision to donate.

While the official Guinness World Records certificate is a beautiful memento of our time in Denver, our primary mission remains unchanged: raising crucial public awareness about the ongoing need for registered organ, eye, tissue, and living donors.
Every name counted in Denver represents a second chance at life, a family kept whole, and a legacy honored.
